Welcome! I'm Yanique Grant-Buchanan, and choosing the right person to guide you can feel like a big decision, so let me share a bit about my approach.
I believe therapy should be a space where you feel truly supported. You'll find that I'm a compassionate person who values laughter and genuine connection. My aim is to create an environment where you feel comfortable and positive, allowing us to navigate the full range of emotions together. My goal is to build a trusting relationship with you, rooted in empathy and a strong belief in your capacity for healing and growth. We often face societal pressures to be "perfect" or follow specific timelines, which can leave us feeling overwhelmed or hopeless. Let's cast those expectations aside and define a path that truly belongs to you. I wholeheartedly believe you are the author of your own life, and you hold the pen.
I've been dedicated to the mental health field since 2009 and specializing as a trauma therapist since 2015. My experience spans individual, couples, group, and intensive outpatient treatments, working with both children and adults from a wide array of cultural backgrounds.
My practice focuses on complex trauma, including racial trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and multicultural identity. I take a holistic view, understanding that every part of you contributes to your well-being. I work with clients from all backgrounds who are seeking to develop a deeper understanding of their identity as it relates to their race, culture, and ethnicity. Through evidence-based therapeutic interventions, I'm here to help you uncover your full potential by supporting you in healing, developing coping strategies, and gaining a richer understanding of yourself.
